Serious , sober ,deep” says the singer born in 1955 in the in the flamenco neighbourhood called Santiago de Jerez de la Frontera. Mi única llave is a flamenco , impecable album with great musical richness and good guitar-players. This album is elaborated with few elements that covers all the sonic spectrum in a good work made by Javier who has achieved to hold the album just with guitars, percussions, clappings and little more. This album has also collaborations with Eric Truffaz (Trumpeter),Allain Mallet (Piano) and Layth Al-Rubave (violinist) that provide to the album connexions with other kind of musics.
Mi única llave has a lot of surprises which enriches the album. “The best guitar-players of Spain are in the album: Diego del Morao, Pepe Habichuela, Tomatito y Manuel Parrilla” say José Mercé. Javier Limón adds “Alejandro Sanz has composed a bulería honoree to Moraíto Chico (who is José Mercé’s guitar-player died in 2011) the martinete that heads the album was recorded in Boston with fifteen girls’s chorus ; the zambra’s Salvaora by Manolo Caracol version was recorded in a Masonic church from the XIX century with the jazz’s guitar player Alain Mallet; the French trumpeter Eric Truffaz plays with Pepe Habichuela in the Elegia to Ramón Sijé, poem by Miguel Hernández , reminding the Enrique Morente’s work, there also are some fandangos from Huelva with the collaboration of Layth Al-Rubave ,a incredible 19 years old jordanian violinist…Is the most gypsy and comtemporary album of José”
Almost every songs are composed by Javier Limón and José Mercé. The first single is titled “La llave del amor”.The tangos are flamencos, energics, deeps. “The sound of this album sticks to our ear”say José Mercé who praise to Javier Limón “We know each other from long time ago and we always wanted to make together an album and it just happened. His works make you feel very comfortable.I think we have made a good album, more stabilised than the previous albums”
XVII Flamenco biennial poster
This meeting with flamenco in Seville will be celebrated from the 3d to the 30th of september and brings in 2012 a lot of news. Among the big news at logistic level is emphasized on the recovery of the Alcazar and the Cartuja monastery, and the incorporation of the auditorium FIBES for the biennial. The siting with capacity for more than 3.000 persons and The Spanish National ballet, with the show "Medea" of Manolo Sanlucar.
They kept the classic spaces like El Maestranza, that will be taken by the big ballets. Two stars will illuminate the stage, María Pajés with Utopía Compagny and Sara Baras with her flamenco show.
Among the most original shows, the offer of Piacere & Fahmi Alqhai & Arcángel academy that will count on Patricia Guerrero a fusion between old music and Flamenco, will be celebrated on tuesday 4th of september in the Alcazar. The Evangelistas, with a solemn tribute in rock'n roll to Enrique Morente, will be another of the stand out dishes, and will be in the Central theatre on saturday 29th of september.
Israel Galván, the Ferran Adrià of flamenco, presents his show "La Curva" with Sylvie Courvoisier, at the piano, the sing of Inés Bacán and 'Bobote'.
Israel Galvan (Seville 1973) is now the most surprising renovator of the contemporary flamenco dance. He is like the Ferran Adrià of flamenco dance because he has been able to discover a grammar based on the experimentation of the surprise, and an incredible fragility that hides a real dance study: “I am looking for mi own liberty, I take on the risk; I know it, but I feel excited to walk close to the precipice.”
- What does La Curva means?
- It means to pay tribute to a great creator for a lot of people, unknown. The dancer from Valladolid, Vicente Escudero, lived in Paris in the Cubism time, with all the famous painters and strange people of the 20’s. Vicente Escudero had an exceptional personality. In a mythic theatre called “La Courbe” he realized several dance shows, “zapateados”, chairs pyramids and even a kind of jazz show in which Josephine Baker would have succeed.
- Do you feel close to Vicente Escudero legacy?
- I feel close to his search as artist. For a lot of people he is a stranger but he is one of the creators of flamenco. It had to be a very exceptional person, with a big creativity. He was the first one who dares to dance siguiriya.
- You are taking a very similar way… How did you manage to create a style so clear and different as dancer?
- It is a very long process. I don’t think there is an inflection point. I realized that my body was talking to me and let me know that dancing was the best expression of myself. I don’t express myself talking, but with my body.
‘Baile Flamenco’, el último espectáculo de Farruquito

After a world tour, Farruquito comes back on stage in Madrid with Baile Flamenco, a show which did the Premiere on the last september and we could see again in the Compac Via theater from the 3d of april and during three weeks. Baile Flamenco is a show in which Farruquito offers a route by the flamenco history, going back to the origins to spread them.
"Ole, viva Cadiz", it is the first “jaleo” listened in the background of a deaf guitar.
Strums and his voice for the land like benediction:" Ay with the caray, caray, caray, these are the things that happen in Cai ".

La Caña Cantes Abandolaos
As discussed in previous interviews, this tour it's made from the absolute respect, following the classic "cante" made orthodoxly and with the vocal maturity that has been given duringl these years of experience.
Considered one of the great performers, authors and innovators of modern flamenco, Arcángel has recorded an album of great artistic height, rooted in the tradition but in a spirit quite contemporary. "The modifications of the structures have to be from the base," he says. "Over the past 40 years, flamenco has undergone tremendous changes and the shows have to compete with other musical offerings. People are stepping up, but sometimes we have taken things were not going so well. Now, after the boom, flamenco wants to evolve from the root, more solid. "
When you hear" Pa 'que tanto discutir", the opening track of Quixote dreams, these words make sense. They are huge beautyful tangos with Arcángel and Dorantes music and lyrics by José Luis Ortiz Nuevo wrapped in magnificent arrangements by Dorantes, who also sits at the piano, guitars and Daniel Mendez and Miguel Angel Cortes, which run almost everything in the album. Archangel has achieved a matter of great elegance, with transitions that mix contemporary music, jazzy piano playing with echoes of Keith Jarrett and exceptional rhythmic balance without losing the essence
A family tragedy broke his career and sparked a psychiatric illness that has taken to an edge for years to flamenco lovers , whom suddenly saw that one of the most exquisite and personal guitarists of the generation that succeeded Paco de Lucia was rushing in a black cast with an uncertain end. Exceptional circumstances that help to understand the wait that caused the concert offered tonight at the Lope de Vega, for which the invitations have been exhausted.
It will be his first performance in Seville, where he was born in 1962 - the last five years, and will serve to present his new job, that will see the light at the end of the year, ending a gap of recording silence opened 15 years ago . The Catalan singer Mayte Martin came to town last night to accompany him today, from 21:00 in the interpretation of Parque de María Luisa, an album with the collaboration of Estrella Morente, a tribute to friendship and admiration that Enrique Morente professed and guitarist from Seville, Manuel Calleja, and that Riqueni means a "reunion with great memories, with times that are gone but I still have in the heart", a "reunion with everything," he added.
Yoko Komatsubara, a veteran dancer, choreographer and flamenco of several schools in Japan that will perform her new show, "Flamenco Passion" in 16 Japanese cities in collaboration with the "Instituto Andaluz del Flamenco", stated: "Flamenco is almost our art in Japan. "

The director says her ambition is that flamenco is better known around the world and even more deeply in Japan, which calls for annual competition among its students and scholarship winners to stay in "sevillanas" academies, working in this She also collaborates in this flamenco promotion with the Min-on Japanese Foundation, a state entity dedicated to establishing cultural links between different cultures.
