Estrella Morente opens the V Festival Flamenco Community

""Tablaos", "cante", dance, and feeling are the ingredients that converge this friday, 4th of june, at the starting signal of "Suma Flamenca", in the Flamenco Festival of the Community of Madrid, that will take place during the next weeks till the 2nd of july. Estrella Morente will open the Festival in the Auditorio Théater of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, but she won´t be the only one that will act in the opening, because there are other 6 shows schéduled in three other councils of Madrid almost at the same time.
For example, in the Salón Cervantes of Alcalá Théater, one of the best guitars of the flamenco history, Enrique de Melchor's one,will play for those who will assist. Melchor will be accompanied by three musicians, at the guitar, flute and percussion, one "cantaor, two "cantaoras" doing chorus and "compás", and one "bailaora". Paco Taranto, the extremaduran Guadiana or Capullo de Jerez, Juana la del Pipa and Mariana Cornejo in the tribute "Remembering Chano Lobato", will meet tonight in different places of the Community.

During three days, we  will see the performances of "El Lebrijano" and Carmen and Matilde Rubio Spanish
Ballet of Murcia company.

The Flamenco Summit of Caja Mediterráneo (CAM) opens with the performance of the Guitar player Vicente Amigo, in a stage that changes location this year and will be celebrated in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga, with the image of the cathedral and the shows of the Carmen and Matilde Rubio Spanish Ballet of Murcia Company  and the "cantaor" Juan Peña "El Lebrijano".

These are the artists that will take part in the XVII edition of this festival, an historic event of the "Caja" and that year after year gets out of control, said the territorial president of CAM, Angel Martínez. The location where it's normally celebrated, The Romea theater, is closed for repairs, and the installations of the institution are getting smaller.

Un an de plus, le "Ballet Flamenco"de Madrid s'installe dans l'affiche de la capitale, avec une version de l'opéra de Georges Bizet et le roman de Prosper Marimée qui signe la "bailaora" et choréographe Sara Lezana. Une scène de la version flamenca de "Carmen"crée par Sara Lezana.
Carmen, la cigarière crée par Mérimée, patrimoine de la danse espagnole, fut réellement crée par Antonio Gades qui, plus d'un quart de siècle, créa une version transformée en exemple et référant et que Carlos Saura l'a porté au cinéma. Carmen a été l'obsession de beaucoup de nos choréographes; parmis eux se trouve Sara Lezana, qui a partagé écran avec Gades dans "Los Tarantos", de Rovira Beleta.

Alejandro Sanz creates a record brand devoted to flamenco. The artist wants to give the opportunity to new talents to record.

Las raíces de Alejandro Sanz son y serán siempre flamencas. "Aprendí a hacer música con el flamenco", confesando de nuevo una pasión que ahora le lleva a un nuevo proyecto: Lola Records, según ha informado Aire Flamenco.
Lola Records se dirige a los jóvenes artistas antes que a los consagrados y al flamenco tradicional que no necesita de fusiones ni experimentos.
Alejandro ha confirmado así que está montando un sello discográfico dedicado al flamenco, explicando que su fin es "por supuesto sin ánimo de lucro, sería disparatado desear tenerlo". A lo que añadía que, "Queremos grabar a todos esos artistas que no tienen oportunidad de pasar por un estudio, y queremos grabarlos en condiciones, como se graba el flamenco puro, con voz, guitarra y palmas".
Con este nuevo proyecto por tanto, Alejandro Sanz busca recuperar la forma pura de grabar y editar flamenco que existía antes, así como ofrecer a los artistas noveles la posibilidad de darse a conocer.
























Alejandro Sanz origines are and will always be flamencas. “I learnt music with flamenco” confessing again a passion which leads him to another project: Lola Records, according to Aire Flamenco. Lola Records is destined to young artists before acclaimed artists and to the traditional flamenco which do not need neither fusion neither experiment.

Alejandro has confirmed that he is creating a brand, devoted to flamenco, explaining that its aim is “with no profit motive in mind, because it would be outrageous wanting it”. And he added that “We want to record all the artists who don’t have the opportunity to go to a studio and we want to record them in good condition, like we record the pure flamenco, with voice, guitar and palmas”. With this new project, Alejandro Sanz look for recouping the pure way to record and edit the flamenco which existed before, like offer to the artists the possibility to be famous.

El Rey D. Juan Carlos, quien aceptó la Presidencia de Honor del Festival en su cincuentenario, recibirá la Medalla de Oro conmemorativa del evento, mientras que la ministra de Cultura, Ángeles González-Sinde, clausurará el Festival.
El Festival Internacional del Cante de Las Minas celebrará sus 'bodas de oro' del 3 al 14 de agosto en La Unión (Murcia) con conciertos del guitarrista Paco de Lucía y el cataor flamenco Enrique Morente, entre otras atracciones. "Vamos a rendir un tributo al pasado, haciendo una apuesta por el futuro", señaló hoy Pedro Alberto Cruz, consejero de Cultura de la Región de Murcia, durante la presentación de la programación del Festival en el mítico 'tablao' del Corral de la Morería, en Madrid.
"Hoy el flamenco es una música del mundo", sentenció Morente, quien también reveló que preparará "algo especial" para su concierto. Ganador del Castillete de Oro en esta 50 edición, el cantaor declaró que recibirá este "gran premio" "con dignidad". "Mi carrera ha tenido diversas épocas y cada una tenía una etiqueta. Hoy todas me gustan, incluso las negativas, que me dieron el coraje para seguir adelante", detalló el artista, que se presentará el 6 de agosto.
The king D. Juan Carlos, who accepted the Festival Honour presidency in its 50º anniversary, will receive the commemorating gold medal of the event, meanwhile the Culture Minister Angeles Gonzalez Sinde, will close the festival.

The International Festival of Cante de las Minas will celebrate its golden anniversary from the 3d to the 14th of august in La Union (Murcia) with the concerts of the guitarist Paco de Lucia and the singer Enrique Morente, between other attractions. “We will homage to the past and having a bet with the future” said today Pedro Alberto Cruz, Cultural director of Murcia, during the presentation of the planning of the festival of the mythical “tablao” of the Corral de la Moreria, in Madrid.

“Today the flamenco is music of the world” said Morente, who revealed as well that he will prepare “something special” for his concert. Winner of the Gold Castillete in this 50th edition, the singer declared that he will receive this big award with dignity. “My career has got several periods, and each one has a label. Now, I like them all, even the negative ones, which gave me courage enough to go on”, said the artist, who will present himself on the 6 of august.
