Hats

The hat is an essential accessory of traditional Spanish attire. In the context of flamenco and Andalusian celebrations, several styles stand out: the Cordobés hat (flat brim and low crown, the most iconic Spanish hat), the calañés hat (turned-up brim and cone-shaped crown, typical of western Andalusia), the Rocío hat (wide-brimmed to protect from the sun during the Rocío pilgrimage), and party hats (wide-brimmed hats and fascinators for wedding guests and events).

Hats are made from different materials depending on their use. Classic Cordobés hats are crafted from wool felt (the most common, available in black, grey, brown and red), though velvet and straw versions also exist for summer. Sizes range from children (52 cm) to large adult (62 cm). Prices range from €15 for basic felt models to over €80 for artisan or party hats.
