The third week of the V. Edition of the Flamenco Festival of Madrid, Suma Flamenca 2010, will offer five shows (three singing shows and two dance shows). They will take place at the Canal Theaters, having some great artists like Enrique Morente, Pastora Galván and Joaquín Grillo, Juan Valderrama, Argentina and Antonio, Antonio Canales and Amador Rojas, according to the information provided by the festival's organisation. The third week of the festival will start tomorrow with the musical performance of the master Enrique Morente, who will offer a classical flamenco concert, at 8.30pm. That will be the prelude of the Flamenco Bienal of Sevilla. The show of Pastora Galván "Bailes" will be presented next Wednesday 16. On Thursday the festival will offer a recital titles "Maestros", where the voice and the guitare are fitting in with the piano and violins harmonic richness". On Friday 18. Argentino will sing by tangos, bulerias, soleas, alegrias, fandangos and rumbas accompanied by guitars, piano, trumpet, percussion, palmas, choirs and Manuel Parrila as guest star. The concert will take place on Friday 18. at 8.30pm. And the last show of this third week will be dedicated to the dance, when Antonio Canales will dance with his pupil Amador Rojas during "Alternativa". We will discover the experience of one of the greatest dancers and the youth of the new generation.

Estrella Morente opens the V Festival Flamenco Community

""Tablaos", "cante", dance, and feeling are the ingredients that converge this friday, 4th of june, at the starting signal of "Suma Flamenca", in the Flamenco Festival of the Community of Madrid, that will take place during the next weeks till the 2nd of july. Estrella Morente will open the Festival in the Auditorio Théater of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, but she won´t be the only one that will act in the opening, because there are other 6 shows schéduled in three other councils of Madrid almost at the same time.
For example, in the Salón Cervantes of Alcalá Théater, one of the best guitars of the flamenco history, Enrique de Melchor's one,will play for those who will assist. Melchor will be accompanied by three musicians, at the guitar, flute and percussion, one "cantaor, two "cantaoras" doing chorus and "compás", and one "bailaora". Paco Taranto, the extremaduran Guadiana or Capullo de Jerez, Juana la del Pipa and Mariana Cornejo in the tribute "Remembering Chano Lobato", will meet tonight in different places of the Community.

For the occassion of the 25th anniversary of the Museum Picasso-Collection, Eugenio Arias of the Community of Madrid, the tow where the close friend and barbe of Picasso, Eugenio Arias, was born and died after his french exile, Buitrago de Lozoya, accomodates a museum as a tribute to this wonderful friendship as an initiative and administration of the regional Governement 25 years ago.

Avance de la Programación de Suma Flamenca 2010

Hoy se presentó el avance de programación de la V edición del Festival Flamenco de la Comunidad de Madrid Suma Flamenca, cuya oferta incluye más de 33 espectáculos, que se representarán en una quincena de espacios de la capital y de otros diez ayuntamientos de la región. Todos los aficionados al arte jondo podrán disfrutar del 4 de junio al 2 de julio de la mayor calidad y tonalidades del cante, danza y toque a través de figuras indiscutibles del flamenco.

El festival mantiene la esencia que le ha convertido en una cita ineludible para aficionados y curiosos desde hace cuatro años: acercar a grandes figuras consagradas y jóvenes valores del flamenco hasta escenarios de municipios ubicados por la geografía de toda la Comunidad.
