The material used to make the comb is cellulose acetate. Acetate allows for great flexibility and deformability without breaking as easily as plastic. Its composition gives it a special shine and a spectacular imitation of tortoiseshell. The openwork and engraving are marquetry work. Everything is made entirely by hand.
