Tribute to Ramón De Algeciras
In the disc of RAMON DE ALGECIRAS, an album of two Cds pays tribute to the big guitarist, accompanied by singers as Camaron, Niño Ricardo, La Susi and with his little brother, another big master of the spanish guitar Paco de Lucia. Ramon de Algeciras is the big brother of another great guitarist: Paco de Lucia. He is the one of the best guitarists representative of Niño Ricardo's school, to whom he had the chance to work during several years in Juanito Valderrama company. During the biggest part of his artistic career he was singing at the back, that is to say accompaning the dance or the sing in festivals, fairs, tablaos, theatres, shows... From the start of his career, with only 18 years, his guitar accompanied the big flamenco figures: Antonio Mairena, La Niña de los Peines, Pepe Marchena, Pepe Pinto, Fernanda y Bernarda de Utrera, La Perla de Cádiz, Adela La Chaqueta, Fosforito... or Camarón, of whom he managed to be the official guitarist in the seventies. He was part as well of the Juanito Valderrama company (1957-1968), of the Antonio Ballet (1966-1968) and of the Paco de Lucia sextet, where he was second guitarist and he managed the biggest part of the group.
