A flamenco dress (traje de flamenca or vestido de sevillana) is the traditional outfit worn by women at Andalusian ferias, flamenco performances and cultural celebrations across Spain. It features a fitted bodice, a flared skirt with layered ruffles (volantes), and bold colours — polka dots, stripes and solid colours are the most classic patterns.
Flamenco dresses are typically made from cotton, poplin or stretch fabrics for comfort during dancing. Prices range from around €80 for simple models to €500+ for designer pieces with hand-sewn details. Key accessories include a matching shawl (mantoncillo), hair flowers, earrings, a decorative comb (peineta) and a fan. Sizes are available from children (age 2) to plus-size adults.
