Castañuelas del Sur's special jota castanets are entirely handmade, designed to offer the best sound for this traditional style. They are made from sheets of paper and pressed cotton, impregnated with high-quality resin, which guarantees resistance, lightness and a unique sound. Each piece is engraved with our JUAN VELA SEVILLA brand, a seal of authenticity and tradition.
Thanks to their careful composition, these lightweight jota castanets allow you to play for long periods without fatigue, making them the ideal instrument for both rehearsals and performances. You can choose between a normal box, for a balanced medium sound, or a double box, which provides a deeper, more serious tone, perfect for highlighting the jota dance.
The handcrafted manufacture ensures that each set of castanets has a unique sound, with a range and intensity that enriches the musical performance. In addition, this model includes a special faux leather case, available in several colours, with a sheepskin interior and metal fastenings, also handcrafted to protect and keep your castanets in perfect condition.
