The Filigrana castanets represent one of the most important legacies in the history of the construction of this instrument. Its founder revolutionized the world of the castanet by developing new fiber materials that significantly improved sound power, durability, and resistance of the instrument.

A pioneer in the research and technical evolution of the castanet, Filigrana introduced innovations such as the resonance box and dedicated more than four decades to studying its origins and perfection.

Its legacy is part of the history of flamenco and Spanish dance. The old Filigrana workshop is preserved in the Museum of Arts and Popular Customs of Seville, where homage is paid to a career linked to great figures of art such as Lola Flores, Pilar López, Merche Esmeralda, Luisillo, Juanita Reina, or Rafael 'El Negro', among many others.

Thanks to its technical advances, Filigrana castanets became a reference for professionals, dance companies, and traditional groups as emblematic as Los Seises de Sevilla.
