Sonsonete - Remedios Amaya

Once again Remedios Amaya mixes flamenco and pop with 'Sonsonote.'
The cantaora says that in her latest album she has attempted to "give new airs to Flamenco by opening new paths."
The first track in Sonsonote is a cover of Sobreviviré, which has also been interpreted by Mónica Naranjo, by the Italian Mina.
The songs from this album have been hand selected by Remedios herself along with her friend Miguel, Jesús Bola and Antonio Humanes. Along with the would-be vocalist of Alameda, Pepe Roca, she sings a cover of Aires de Alameda in dedication to the missing Manuel Marinelli. There are also soleares in dedication to Camarón and bulerías sung for Luis de la Pica. As she usually does in her albums, she recorded with the best in the genre: Juan Manuel Cañizares and Curro de Navajita Plateá on guitar, the percussionist Tino Di Geraldo and the Cámara Andaluza Orquestra.
