José Rodríguez Vázquez was born in Herrault (France) in 1971.
When his family moved to San Blas (Madrid), José started to be known as El Francés (The French fellow), and soon flamenco singers such as El Potito and Pepe de Lucía recorded his compositions. Nuevos Medios offered him to record his first records, respecting both his euro-romanticism, the gypsy echo of his voice and the street wise personality of his songs. The result was that José had the formula for immediate success.
