Cartel del 30 Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba

The Guitar Festival of Cordoba, the most important, totally dedicated to this instrument, and celebrating its 30. edition, offers more than 32 concerts and starts tomorrow with the "Misa Flamenca" by Paco Peña, the founder of this festival, born in 1981.The Patio de los Naranjos of the mosque-cathedral of Cordoba will be the stage for the work of Peña, one of the most played flamenco mass in the world and counting with the participation of the singer "El Pele".This will be the first of a lot of concerts, joining the most important names of the guitar, until July 25.
Paco de Lucía, Placebo (this will be the unique concert in Andalusia), Deep Purple (unique concert in Spain), Ismael Serrano and Joan Manuel Serrat are some artists who will be present on the Cordoba stages, and Mark Knopfler will be playing on July 25. in the Bullfighting Place.The Guitar Festival of Cordoba also includes the flamenco ballet of Eva Yerbabuena or the première of the new editing of the artistical director and choreographer Javier Latorre "El Duende y el Reloj".We will also have the possibility to see Marlango and Johnny Winter.The formative programme starts tomorrow with the classes "Guitarra para todos" by Leo Brouwer, and for the classical guitar, Manolo Sanlúcar, José Antoni Rodríguez, Paco Serrano and Manolo Franco; meanwhile Javier Latorre and Inmaculadad Aguilar will be on charge of the singing classes.Also available the lectures by Fito Páez, Joe Bonamassa and Dominique di Piazza.Furthermore, the festival will be very feminine for the series "La Mujer y la Guitarra" and will offer a special "aparté" for the foreign guitar players.All the city will be immerse in this musical instrument, also offering mini concerts along the bus stops.More information on: http://www.guitarracordoba.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=67&Itemid=104
