Cristina Hoyos was born in Sevilla in 1946. After an ample training period she became Antonio Gade´s first dancer, a post which she occupied for two decades, and for which reason she intervened in nearly all his work such as Crónica del suceso de Bodas de sangre, Carmen y El amor brujo. At the end of the eighties, she founded her own dance company, as she was then a very well known artist. As director of her own group she has also carried out important shows and participated in various films for example the tape Montoyas y Tarantos. She was awarded the Award for Rhythm of Flamenco Song by the Cruzcampo Foundation amongst many others.
