Antonio de los Santos Bermúdez was born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1966. His father is Manuel Agujetas and his grandfather is Agujetas el Viejo. He made some recitals when he was a child, but later on, he had some problems that made him go to prison. However, it was in the prison of Cordoba where Antonio made the most of his abilities to improve as an artist. He won two first prizes in the Certamen Nacional Penitenciario de Cante Flamenco contest and recorded a record with the guitarists Rafael el Trenas and Miguel Ochando. In 1992 he recorded another record, produced by peña los Cernícalos with Moraíto Chico. After coming out from prison, he started a professional career as a singer thanks to Jerez-born guitar player Alberto San Miguel, with who Antonio Agujetas has recorded another CD with a great variety of flamenco singings. This year he has performed in the Teatro Central, where he has obtained a great success by the audience and the critics.
