It's published a double CD+DVD with the most complete anthology of Rocío Jurado that as an homage paid to her on the occasion of the second anniversary of her decease.
Flamenco offers the most complete anthology published up to now about Rocío Jurado as the great flamenco singer she was, one of the aspects perhaps hidden by her big hits in the melodic song and as interpreter of popular folk song, kind from which this time last year a complete compilation under the title ''La copla'', had been published. The big hits of the Spanish song. And just like what happened with this record, in flamenco the picture sleeve is courtesy of the Jurado's family that always supervised and approved the content of the album.
The two CD of flamenco contain 39 songs that are a complete round by the rhythmic patterns of flamenco this one gitano-andaluz. Bulerías, Soleá, granaína, malagueña, tangos, fandangos, tarantos, romeras, siguirillas, tientos, bamberas, alegrías, serranas, verdiales, colombianas, cantiñas, toná,…all the rhythmic patterns of flamenco are available on the two CD sung by Rocío Jurado, going round since the most ancient tradition known through the flamenco singers such as El Piliya or María Borricco to close authors as Rafael Alberti, Diego Carrasco, El Lebrijano, Manolo Sanlúcar, Carlos Lencero, Ricardo Pachón, Felipe Campuzano, Antonio and Carlos Murciano or Quintero, León and Quiroga. The DVD offers ten performances of Rocío Jurado on TVE recorded between 1976 and 1994. There, we have from the Alegrías of la Macarrona to several fandangos, going through the famous romeras gaditanas coplas of pica-pica or the Colombian wanted to be gardener.
Flamenco is the homage paid to an artist whose andalusian style of singing runs in his family, as Antonio Gala was writing: ''She is a common people woman, who takes from the people all the strength and is to the advantage of the people, is enriched by the music and the wonder of her voice''. Rocío Jurado, great in the song, great in the popular folk song, great in the flamenco.
