The "cajon" is an Afro-Peruvian percussion instrument, created by the Peruvian slaves. Its international diffusion is coming from its adoption and usage by Paco de Lucía in 1977 after a tour in Latin America. After the flamenco community has adopted the Peruvian "cajon", a lot of percussion players appeared. The "cajon" has now its onw and irrapleceable place in the flamenco world. This instrument is a mix between the "palmas" and the "taconeo".
